Introduction
At a small to medium-sized business (SMB), technology is critical for ensuring smooth operations and consistent service delivery. Faced with outdated infrastructure, this SMB required a comprehensive upgrade to its network, server, and backup systems. Project Overview

Network and Server Upgrades
The initial phase of the project involved assessing the client’s network infrastructure. Our team identified failing data networks and inefficient server configurations that required attention. We implemented solutions such as upgrading to NVME and M.2 technology, enhancing fiber connectivity, and optimizing server setups for redundancy and smooth operation.
Backup Solutions
The SMB had a functional backup system in place, though it was somewhat outdated and not included in the scope of this project. During the implementation, the backup appliance failed, jeopardizing the client’s data protection. HawkPoint’s team acted swiftly to implement a temporary solution ensuring uninterrupted backups while completing the in-scope work. The client did not miss any backups.
After completing the main project, we addressed the backup issue permanently. We provided and assisted in acquiring a replacement appliance at no cost. This proactive approach demonstrated our commitment to comprehensive support and client satisfaction.
Software Team Intervention
A significant aspect of the project was the planned implementation of our client’s custom accounting software. On the implementation day, their software vendor was unavailable, risking operational downtime during a critical weekend period.
Our software team intervened, learning, configuring, and implementing the software. This ensured the SMB’s systems were operational without disruption, highlighting the importance of our software team in maintaining business continuity.
